La cita nacional, que forma parte del programa del Centenario del Real Club de Regatas de la localidad, atraerá a 178 regatistas de 11 comunidades autónomas
Santiago de la Ribera acoge desde el 31 de octubre al 4 de noviembre el Campeonato de España Laser 4.7 que reunirá en la localidad a 178 regatistas de 11 comunidades autonómas. La cita nacional que se enmarca en los actos organizados por el Real Club de Regatas de la localidad por su 100 aniversario dará comienzo el 1 de noviembre, tras la jornada de mediciones, con un total de 12 pruebas en cuatro días de competición que tendrá como hora de salida para la primera de prueba las 12h.
La Región de Murcia, a través de la Federación de Vela y representando a varios clubes competirá con un total de 23 regatistas y cuatro entrenadores, procedentes del Club Náutico Los Nietos (7), Club Náutico Mar Menor (7) y el club anfitrión, el Club Náutico de Santiago de la Ribera (9). Las comunidades con mayor participación serán Andalucía con 27, Valencia con 25, Baleares con 24 y Cataluña con 31.
El Campeonato de España Laser 4.7 forma parte del programa del Centenario del Real Club de Regatas de Santiago de la Ribera , junto a los campeonatos de España Laser, Master, Standard y Radial, celebrado en abril, así como el nacional de Snipe disputado a mediados de septiembre. El calendario culminará con su regata estrella: XL Trofeo Armada Española, XIV Trofeo Azor Ambiental, VII Trofeo Memorial Almirante D. Marcial Sánchez Barcaiztegui Azna, para la clase Snipe, en el mes de diciembre.
